Havamal Snippets 15: Be Happy and Cheerful

It's Wednesday (Woden/Odin's Day) which means that it's time for another verse from the Havamal 'Sayings of the High One - Odin'. The poem full of wisdom, both everyday and ethereal. (The poem can be found in full HERE):
15. Taciturn and prudent,
and in war daring
should a king’s children be;
joyous and liberal
every one should be
until the hour of his death.

What is the Male Equivalent of Female Carouselling?

Question:  What's the male equivalent of Female Carouselling (women spending the most fertile years engaging in promiscuous sex with multiple partners)?

Answer:  A man spending his years of peak prosperity (in wisdom and monetary terms) with casual sex partners and/or whores rather than with his children.

Why?  Because a woman is spending the most fertile years of her life with casual sex partners, the result of this is that their eggs are older.  Older eggs = unhealthy children (more chance of genetic disorders, trisomies etc).  Thus by spending her most fertile years sleeping around, she decreases the quality of life for her children.  So the same can be said for a man who spends his time and accumulated wisdom not on his children, but with other women (casual sex or whores).  The result of this is that the children's quality of life is decreased.

Women sleeping around during peak fertility = decreased quality of life for their children.
Men sleeping around during peak prosperity = decreased quality of life for their children.

Who suffers as a result of women and men fucking around (literally and proverbially)?  The children, both biologically (35+ year old Oocytes ain't genetically healthy), and psychologically (absent fathers breed deprived children).

Messed up children breed more messed up children.  Generation after generation.  If you want to live in that kind of society, that's fine.  You only live once.  But for those who concern themselves with the future, the fact is that promiscuous societies don't last.

What's the alternative to a promiscuous society?  Women investing their physical bodies when they are their most valuable, and men investing their mental bodies when they are their most valuable.  See Rollo Tomassi's post on 'Sexual Market Value' here (http://rationalmale.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/smv-in-girl-world) for a relevant aged based graph.

Havamal Snippets 14: Drink for Enjoyment

It's Wednesday (Woden/Odin's Day) which means that it's time for another verse from the Havamal 'Sayings of the High One - Odin'. The poem full of wisdom, both everyday and ethereal. (The poem can be found in full HERE):
14. Drunk I was,
I was over-drunk,
at that cunning Fjalar’s.
It’s the best drunkenness,
when every one after it
regains his reason.
(Source: http://heathengods.com/havamal/thorpe.htm)
All things that are good are good in themselves and beget goodness. If you drink, it should be enjoyable then and enjoyable the following day. Avoid drinking for the wrong reasons (false courage, forget your troubles etc), instead drink for good reasons.

Topless Women.. at Al Jazeera!

You know, Al Jazeera, that media broadcasting station based in the backward, intolerant Muslim Middle-East; you know, the Middle, East, the place and culture that supposedly oppresses women, by allowing them to take their clothes off, live, on television, as a form of protest:

This is just part of the misportrayal/misperception of Middle-Eastern culture as a place where only women are oppressed (be it by wearing the Hijab, Niqab, forced marriages, stonings for adulteresses etc).  Never will you here of the oppression and mistreatment of boys and men reported in the same manner.  A nation of abused boys become a nation of abused men, and a nation of abused men produces an abused ruler:

Saddam Hussein, like so many dictators, had an unbelievably traumatic childhood.38 His mother tried to abort him by hitting her abdomen with her fists and cutting herself with a kitchen knife, yelling, "In my belly I'm carrying a Satan!" She gave the infant Saddam away to his uncle, a violent man who beat the boy regularly, calling him "a son of a cur" and training him to use a gun and steal sheep. Saddam committed his first homicide at eleven. (http://www.psychohistory.com/htm/eln02_gulf.html )

Even in the case of forced marriages, only the bride to be is portrayed as the victim, never is the husband portrayed as the victim.

Forced marriages and headscarfs we hear about (women suffering), conscription into the army and male genital mutilation we never hear about (men suffering).  Whether you're watching/reading to media from the East or West, the odds are that it is rotten with misandric memes.  Whether it's identified as culturally liberal or culturally conservative makes little difference, it's probably loaded with misandric memes.  So who can you get your news from?  Get your news from people you can trust, and people who value manhood.

When Men are Out on the Street, Women Give Shelter to Donkeys:

I just saw an advertisement on television promoting, or selling, or something, the opportunity for people to give donations for old or unwanted donkeys.  They had a snip showing a woman caring for a donkey: she was caressing its head, in the same manner that she probably would a small child.  Then there was a panning shot of a field full of formerly unwanted donkeys who were now happily living out the rest of their natural lives whilst human women doted on them and took care of their needs; giving them shelter, food, warmth and, probably, medical care when it was most needed.

Then a thought occurred to me, well, two things actually:
Firstly, that, as some tribal Africans pointed out on a documentary on Channel 4 (yes, I watch television) whilst they were in the UK visiting Prince Philip, that there were homeless men out on the streets, in the cold, during winter, whilst the woman that they were staying with was pampering her dog at the local poodle parlour.  She was treating an animal, which most humans consider as play-things, better than she was a homeless man.

Secondly, why is it that women treat homeless animals better than they treat homeless man?  Is it something that's so ingrained into their psyche, that they have such total disregard for men, that they would rather let a play-thing that they could otherwise eat in a casserole, have a place call their home, rather than giving that place to a human, to a man?  Is that how much women really think of us?  Lower than cattle?

If that's the way that they, women, look at us, men, collectively, then why should I give a fuck about what happens to them?

If I didn't give a fuck about them (by which I mean I was indifferent to them, be their condition be better or worse) rather than be hostile towards them, then would that matter?  Evolution as a reason for showing compassion to women isn't an acceptable one because Alpha Males in other primate species are known to kill all of the young/offspring of the former Alpha Male, that includes the female offspring.  Post menopausal women are null in reproductive terms, so they're also worthless from the Evolutionary argument point of view.  So the argument for me giving a flying fuck about women because of Evolution is completely, totally, specious.

If you're a monotheist, then you could probably cook up whatever argument you want.  Though the Old Testament portrays God as, seemingly, permitting genocide, thus not giving a fuck about women from other races is acceptable.  It's possible, possible, that Christs comment to the Samaritan woman about giving 'dogs' scraps from the table could also be interpreted as indifference to the fate of women, and women of other races.

How to Remedy Hypergamy:

'Have every man be a King, have no King above any man.'

If every man is a king then every woman will have eyes only for her man, because there will be no king above him whom she can have hypergamous feelings towards.

In practical terms this requires two things: firstly, a minor government/ruling group in a supporting role that maintains an environment of honesty (e.g. punishing businesses that sell loaves of bread half filled with saw-dust, or shops that sell 3/4 pint of milk which has been labelled as '1 pint'); secondly, that each and every man is empowered to self-determination, which ensures that he is not subordinated to another man.

This view of 'all men as equal' tends more towards Anarchism than centralism, i.e. a small government not a big one, so Libertarianism should be a political system/culture worth following.  But it is not, because it is principally rebellious/Reactionary, and men are Actionary (they being things, create things) not Reactionary.

Libertarianism is like a teenage kid who is rebelling/Reacting against his father, just because his father is there - a big authority figure.  If his father (big government) was not there then the child (Libertarian) would find something else to rebel against, most probably a 'Big Business' like Shell, Halliburton, MacDonalds etc (ditto for the Libertarian).  Rebelling does nothing to empower men, it's only good for those who enjoy 'The Daily Rant', who want some oppressive father figure to complain about.  It creates nothing.  It empowers no-one.  It wants to be oppressed by a big King figure, which means that it is no good for those who want all men to be Kings.

Actionary people (those who create, innovate, explore etc) are concerned with doing things and spreading 'their' knowledge.  Actionary people are good for men: they tend to have the Promethean spirit which empowers men with knowledge instead of keeping it in a secret Guild.  Public Libraries, Open Source Software, free patents, free online lectures, free legal advice, gender based truths from the androsphere etc, these are things that empower men by making the knowledge available to all, rather than disempowering men by keeping the knowledge hidden away.  Empowered men mean that every man is a king, disempowered men mean that they are slaves to another.

Empowering men means a country of self-sufficient farmers, not a country of Monsanto clients; it means a country of SMEs, not cubicle-slaves to big business/government; it means a country of public journals, open media and free patents, not a country of pay-wall journals, media cartels and pharmaceutical patents.

If there is any Supra-King figure above a man, then a woman will have hypergamous feelings towards that Supra-King.  To rid the world of hypergamy make all men a King.

Men of Yore: Theodore Roosevelt

This is another in a series of posts about men from history who have either achieved great things in one form or another by pushing boundaries: either in themselves or in society or science or exploration of some form.  Boundary pushing and growth is what men do, it's their nature: to grow and push outwards.  We, as men, are the frontiersmen/the vanguard, the first to discover/uncover new territory, in a metaphysical sense (i.e. including both material and the immaterial) that is later colonised and 'civilised' by the rest of humanity.

It is also partly intended to show images, be they paintings, statues or photographs of the countenaces of men of yore.  Because, quite frankly, many men wear the countenances of women these days: smiling, smirking, cooing, rolling their eyes, looking smug etc.  It's a sign of the times, and by showing some images of men from the past, I hope to show some modern men why looking surly, frowning and giving hard-ball stares at people is something to do, something to practice.

Theodore Roosevelt, 1883 (aged 35)

Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt (play /ˈrzəvɛlt/ ROH-zə-velt;[2] October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919) was the 26th President of the United States (1901–1909). A Republican, he is noted for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Progressive Movement, as well as his "cowboy" persona and robust masculinity
[..]
Roosevelt was a sickly child who suffered from asthma and stayed at home studying natural history. To compensate for his physical weakness, he embraced a strenuous life. Home-schooled, he became an eager student of nature[.]

Hostile environments and Men 'Dropping Out':

It's quite simple really (if indeed there are a significant proportion of men 'dropping out' of society), if you make an environment hostile to a particular organism, don't be surprised if the number of organisms in that environment dwindle.

If you subject a baby to exposure, then don't be surprised if it dies.

If you build a town on a mosquito infested marsh, then don't be surprised if your population ends up with malaria and becomes sick.

If you increase the level of acidity in a lake by filling it with toxic pollutants, then don't be surprised if the number of fish living in it plummets, and the remainder are left with an abnormal physiology.

If you fill a society with misandric propaganda, and gynophillic propaganda, then don't be surprised if the number of men and male men dwindle.

If you create an environment that is hostile to men, then you will increase the rate of failure of the majority to such an extent that you will create a dichotomy in the group: compliant female men, and rebellious super-male men.  Those are the only two groups that will survive the harsh anti-male conditions of society by either complying (the female men), or becoming stronger (the super male men).

As for those who think that having a population of female-men is a good thing, then look at what happens when you decrease the level of testosterone in a person, they end up becoming riddled with neuroses, anxiety, depression etc (1), all of which are anathemas to virile erections.  Thus if you end up with a feminised population, you ultimately end up with no population, as it is incapable of breeding, and thus sustaining itself.

Footnote:
(1)  And, oddly (or perhaps not), there is a negative correlation between testosterone and psychopathy. i.e. the more womanly a person is, the more psychopathic they are likely to become.

Advice for Fathers: 'Enjoy life, enjoy being a man'

'Enjoy life, enjoy being a man' is probably the best advice that you could give to a potential father.

A happy man/husband/father = a happy man, wife and child.

Happy-go-lucky Jack Nicholson type, or aloof and distant Clint Eastwood type, whatever floats your boat, whatever feels comfortable for you is best for you.

If you are happy and manly then your woman will be happy and womanly.  She will be more likely to be in sound in her mind (fewer neuroses and bi-polar tendencies) and sound in her body (less flab/corpulence).

During the gestation (following the conception), if you are happy in yourself then your woman will be happy in herself and so she will produce more testosterone in her body because of the influence on her lifestyle which will influence the development of the child in the womb, and thus its future physiology and psychological disposition (see the articles on 2D-4D ratios and in-vitro testosterone exposure, which I think CH has mentioned several times in the past).  A child exposed to more testosterone in-vitro is more contented, less neurotic, more outgoing, more sociable etc.

During the formative years of your child (0-5 years) if you are happy in yourself then your woman will be happy in herself and your child will be his self because of the positive role models set by his father and mother as individuals, and by the positive relationship that they have with each other and other people.  Good role models are better than bad ones: an unhappy and weak father means a tyrannical/domineering mother, and consequently a weak undeveloped son, and/or a bitchy demanding daughter (who always sees her mother getting her way by nagging said husband).  Man is an imitative creature after all.  If the son and daughter see only weak men and domineering women, then that's what they'll likely grow up to be like.

During the next ten to fifteen years of the child’s life if you are happy in yourself then your woman will be happy in herself and your child will be happy in his self.  Your child will continue to imitate your positive manly traits (inquisitiveness, decisiveness, optimism etc) and will take them in his own direction.  And then, when he finds a suitable woman, he will be able to pass on those positive traits to his own wife and children, thus perpetuating the process of enjoying manliness.

It's a brilliantly simple concept really: A happy man/husband/father = a happy man, wife and child.  Unfortunately that concept seems to have been lost or corrupted somewhere along the way.

The best advice to give any father or prospective father is to enjoy being themselves, enjoy being a man; the rest (the happiness of the wife by means of increased testosterone, the happiness of the family by means of positive role models, the happiness of the neighbourhood by means of sociable neighbours etc) is then just purely academic.

# Another One Bites the Dust # 2

Another female MP, Nadine Dorries, (a Conservative MP again) is in hot water with her bosses just a few weeks after Louise Mensch decided to quite from politics all together, to spend more time with her children in New York(http://anotherandrosphereblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/another-one-bites-dust.html).  It seems that womens tendency towards nuturing children, or predeliction towards hogging the limelight, gets in the way of their supposedly important career.  Lets hope that the legions of female soldiers and female engineers and female doctors don't suddenly get the same urge, other we'll be left defenceless, in a crumbling civilization, and plagued with disease.

Reality TV and suspension

Dorries became the first sitting MP to participate in a reality TV show since George Galloway (in January 2006 on Celebrity Big Brother) when she agreed to appear in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in early November 2012.[3] Other Conservatives and her constituents were reportedly outraged by the announcement,[106] while the Conservative Chief Whip Sir George Young had not been informed of her absence from Parliament.[3] Dorries also failed to inform the chairman of the Mid-Bedfordshire Conservative Association.[107] The Conservative Party suspended Dorries from the party whip after her confirmation that she was planning to be absent from Parliament.[1] John Lyon, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, received a complaint about her behaviour.[108] The series began on 11 November 2012, but on 21 November Dorries was the first contestant to be voted out of the I'm a Celebrity contest.[109] Dorries met George Young on 27 November, who asked her to rebuild her relationship with the party; she will sit as an independent MP until a later meeting. The MP continued to deny the whip had been withdrawn, claiming it had merely been suspended.[110]

Males in the Media: BBC versus Russia Today

Yesterday there were two articles on the breakfast news about teenage boys: one from the BBC and one from Russia Today.  One was concerned with shaming boys into behaving well and the other was concerned with reporting on the abuse of boys by the US military.  One was concerned with highlighting the juvenile behaviour of a small group of boys, the other was concerned with highlighting the unacknowledged abuse of a large group of boys.  Quite simply, one was misandric the other was philandric.

The BBC does not report abuses commited against boys and men.
Russia Today reports abuses commited against boys and men.

Here are the relevant articles:

Russia Today:
US detained hundreds of Afghan teenagers
The US military said it has captured more than 200 Afghan juveniles, whose average age is 16, and held them prisoner for about one year without charging them for any crimes.

A report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child said that more than 200 detainees under the age of 18 were held at a military prison at the Detention Facility in Parwan for being characterized as “enemy combatants”.
The teens had not been charged with any crimes, but were each held for an average of one year for the sole purpose of preventing “a combatant from returning to the battlefield”, the report said. Since they were not charged for any crimes, the detainees were not provided any legal assistance and could only defend themselves at open hearings.
Most of the teens were captured while they were not in uniform – and many were seized from their homes.
“We’re not talking about battlefield captures, we’re talking about people who are living at home, and four or five brothers might be taken together,” Tina M. Foster, executive director of the International Justice Network, told the Associated Press. “It might take them a year or more to figure out that one of them was younger than 18, to determine the identities of these kids.”

The average age of the captured teens was 16 – but this age is not usually determined until after their capture and it could take over a year to figure out, the report said.
But if the average age is 16, there is a high chance that some children were captured as young as 13 or 14 years old, according to Jamil Dakwar, director of the American Civil Liberties Union. Foster said she has even represented children imprisoned at Bagram that were as young as 11 or 12.
Foster believes the total number of captured juveniles in Afghanistan is greater than 200, since the State Department may not count the children who were under 18 when they were captured, but were considered adults when the report was drawn up.
“There are other children whose parents have said these children are under 18 at the time of their capture, and the US doesn’t allow the detainees or their families to contest their age,” she said.
The US government in the report justified its actions by citing a 2004 Supreme Court case, Hamdi vs. Rumsfield, which ruled that detaining enemy combatants for the duration of the conflict “is a fundamental incident of waging war” and is consistent with the Geneva Conventions.
“The law of armed conflict permits the United States to detain belligerents until the end of hostilities without charging such individuals with crimes, because they are not being held as criminals facing future criminal trial,” the court case established.
Most of these juveniles have been released or transferred to the Afghan government, the report states, without citing any figures. The US government has already handed over about 3,000 inmates to Afghan control over a six-month period ending September 10. About 600 detainees have not yet been transferred.
The report will be presented to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in January, alongside a delegation in Geneva that will answer any questions by the UN committee.

[Quote]

Rudolph Diesel, 1883 (aged 25)

Rudolf Christian Karl Diesel (German: [ˈʁuːdɔlf ˈkʁɪstjan ˈkaʁl ˈdiːzəl]; March 18, 1858 – September 29, 1913) was a German inventor and mechanical engineer, famous for the invention of the Diesel engine.
[..]
Diesel was born in Paris, France in 1858[1] the second of three children of Elise (born Strobel) and Theodor Diesel. His parents were Bavarian immigrants living in Paris.[2][3] Theodor Diesel, a bookbinder by trade, left his home town of Augsburg, Bavaria, in 1848. He met his wife, a daughter of a Nuremberg merchant, in Paris in 1855 and became a leather goods manufacturer there.
[..]
At age 14, Rudolf wrote a letter to his parents stating that he wanted to become an engineer. After finishing his basic education at the top of his class in 1873, he enrolled at the newly-founded Industrial School of Augsburg. Two years later, he received a merit scholarship from the Royal Bavarian Polytechnic of Munich, which he accepted against the wishes of his parents, who would rather have seen him start to work.
One of his professors in Munich was Carl von Linde. Diesel was unable to be graduated with his class in July 1879 because he fell ill with typhoid. While waiting for the next examination date, he gained practical engineering experience at the Gebrüder Sulzer Maschinenfabrik (Sulzer Brothers Machine Works) in Winterthur, Switzerland. Diesel was graduated in January 1880 with highest academic honours and returned to Paris, where he assisted his former Munich professor, Carl von Linde, with the design and construction of a modern refrigeration and ice plant. Diesel became the director of the plant one year later.
[..]
He first worked with steam, his research into thermal efficiency and fuel efficiency leading him to build a steam engine using ammonia vapour
[..]
He then began designing an engine based on the Carnot cycle, and in 1893, soon after Karl Benz was granted a patent for his invention of the motor car in 1886
[..]
Diesel understood thermodynamics and the theoretical and practical constraints on fuel efficiency. He knew that as much as 90% of the energy available in the fuel is wasted in a steam engine. His work in engine design was driven by the goal of much higher efficiency ratios.
[..]
Legacy
After Diesel's death, the Diesel engine underwent much development and became a very important replacement for the steam piston engine in many applications.
[..]
Diesel engines have also become the workhorses of the trucking industry. Recently, diesel engines that have overcome their weight penalty have been designed, certified, and flown in light aircraft. These engines are designed to run on either Diesel fuel or more commonly jet fuel.
[..]
Diesel was interested in using coal dust [5] or vegetable oil as fuel, and in fact, his engine was run on peanut oil.[6] Although these fuels were not immediately popular, during 2008 rises in fuel prices, coupled with concerns about oil reserves, have led to more widespread use of vegetable oil and biodiesel. The primary source of fuel remains what became known as Diesel fuel, an oil byproduct derived from refinement of petroleum.

Diesel originally thought that the diesel engine, (readily adaptable in size and utilizing locally available fuels) would enable independent craftsmen and artisans to endure the powered competition of large industries that then virtually monopolized the predominant power source-the oversized, expensive, fuel-wasting steam engine. During 1885 Diesel set up his first shop-laboratory in Paris and began his 13-year ordeal of creating his distinctive engine.. At Augsburg, on August 10, 1893, Diesel's prime model, a single 10-foot iron cylinder with a flywheel at its base, ran on its own power for the first time. Diesel spent two more years at improvements and on the last day of 1896 demonstrated another model with the spectacular, if theoretical, mechanical efficiency of 75.6 percent, in contrast to the then-prevailing efficiency of the steam engine of 10 percent or less. Although commercial manufacture was delayed another year and even then begun at a snail's pace, by 1898 Diesel was a millionaire from franchise fees in great part international. His engines were used to power pipelines, electric and water plants, automobiles and trucks, and marine craft, and soon after were used in applications including mines, oil fields, factories, and transoceanic shipping.

A characteristic of a man is his desire to help his fellow men, endow them with increased freedoms, be they in the mental realm (language, maths, scientific theories etc) or the physical (fire, the ability to sow ones own crops, travel the world etc).

As the modern world is increasingly using fuels made from vegetable oil and sugar syrup, it shows that Rudolph Diesel truely was a hundred years ahead of his time.

Porno, Porno Everywhere, yet not Allowed to Wank:

Crude title, but it gets the point across: there's porn everywhere, yet most people seem to do nothing but bitch about men having a thrifty fifty when they get a hard on.  Even the Androsphere seems to have succumbed to the numbskullery and has taken to complaining that porn is 'bad for you'.  My beef isn't with the identification of physical damage (penile damage) that can be done because of excessive masturbation (because that's true and near-permanent, (1)), but with the inability to see that men are encouraged to be aroused, and then abjured when they actually become aroused.  It's the typical woman mindfuck: tell you to jump through a hoop (e.g. 'get in touch with your feminine side'), then slap you when you've gone and done it ('I want a REAL man').  If you live in a society that encourages you to behave/think/feel a certain way, don't be surprised if that's what happens.

Take the following scenario:
I take a walk from my house into town to do some shopping, on the way I pass billboards, 20 feet high, with images of women, clad in lingerie and posing in a seductive manner with a 'cum hither' look on their face, and you complain about the profusion of porn in society?  I walk into the local library and am confronted by a librarian wearing a low cut top displaying her heaving bosom, and you complain about the profusion of porn?  I trundle down into the High Street, past Marks and Spencer, and see mannequins and 10 feet tall pictures of women clad in lingerie and tight fitting clothing, and you complain about the profusion of porn in society?  Then I get on my bike and ride down the Broadway, stopping at the Zebra crossing to let a pedestrian cross, who happens to be a women wearing a low cut top, high heels and deliberately walking in such a manner to get her boobs to bounce up and down, and you complain about the profusion of porn in society?  I decide to go out to the local pub that evening and take a seat at the bar, one of the bar maids come up and is, oddly enough, wearing a low cut dress designed to encourage more make patrons to buy beer there, and you complain about the profusion of porn in society?

Just what fucking planet are you people on.  Complaining about fucking porn?  Which is kept behind locked doors?  What the fuck?

We men have to be subjected to this barrage of mentally debasing, sexually arousing imagery everywhere we go; on a daily basis.  We are encouraged to be debased by women, and by advertising agencies, and by merchant/shopkeepers.  What do you expect?  We're not machines.  We can't turn our desire on and off like a fucking dildo.  We are human.  We can exercise self-restraint and self control, yes.  But you can't expect us to exercise it all the time when we are subjected to this kind of mind-fuck, every, fucking, day.

'Thus men are effectively strapped down, gagged, and muzzled while females can flaunt and taunt with impunity. For many men this pretty much sums up every single day of an entire lifetime at school and at work.  Western Women don’t just abuse their incredible sexual power, they pathologically lie about their inability to understand the effects and implications of their actions.' Dannato (2012).

Fucking/breeding is a natural, primal urge, not something that dwells in the forebrain, it's a hindbrain activity, and when you constantly promote hind brain activity, don't be surprised if that's what your end up getting.  If you dangle steak under a hungry dogs mouth after removing its forebrain, don't be surprised if it bites your arm off to get it.

So next time you think about bitching about how porno is leading to the degradation of women, or the downfall of relationships and society, or the arrested development of men, or the collapse of the economy, or what-ever-the-fuck-else you wanna bitch about, then please, take a deep breath, think again, and look around at the high streets, the advertising agencies, the printed and television media and womans-fucking-clothing, and consider: is that porn that you love to demonise, so really different from everything else that you can see in this here society?

Footnotes:
(1)  The supposed 'psychological' damage that is done by looking at porn, courtesy of the misandrists at Brainsex.com, and 'Dr Lasha Darkmoon' of the Occidental Observer, amongst others, is non-existent as John Hearns points out:  'What would be the difference if a guy was addicted to sex with his wife and they had marathon sex on a daily basis? Is there some reason that orgasm through masturbation with porn differs from conventional hetero sex?' Hearns (2012).  The only reason that they are attacking porn is because it empowers men, and disempowers women.  It's really that simple.  A man who can please himself, sexually, whenever he wants, doesn't need a woman.  If you think I'm being foolish here, just think how many of these same people are saying that dildos and vibrators are a 'bad thing'?  How many?  None of them.  And remember, female sex toys are sold in High Street shops (like Ann Summers).  Can you imagine if a High Street shop opened up and started selling battery operated vaginas?  Femtards and So-Con morons would go ballistic!  And finally, regarding the lack of critique of female sexuality, let's not forget to mention soap operas which are the female equivalent of foreplay.  How often are those criticised for fucking up social relations between men and women?  Never.  People who bitch about porn are using it to attack men, which is why you should pay no heed to what they say.

Havamal Snippets 9: Seek Your Own Council

It's Wednesday (Woden/Odin's Day) which means that it's time for another verse from the Havamal 'Sayings of the High One - Odin'. The poem full of wisdom, both everyday and ethereal. (The poem can be found in full HERE):
9. He is happy,
who in himself possesses
fame and wit while living;
for bad counsels
have oft been received
from another’s breast.

George Washington is said to have sought council from himself rather than turning to another.

Havamal Snippets 8: Self-Respect

It's Wednesday (Woden/Odin's Day) which means that it's time for another verse from the Havamal 'Sayings of the High One - Odin'. The poem full of wisdom, both everyday and ethereal. (The poem can be found in full HERE):
8. He is happy,
who for himself obtains
fame and kind words:
less sure is that
which a man must have
in another’s breast.

Wasted Energy:

There are many excellent blog entries in the Androsphere and often many more excellent follow up remarks in the comments section that often deserve to become blog entries themselves.  One of these comments that caught my attention is repeated below.  It brings to the forefront the issue of wasted energy, wasted time.

Time and energy is extremely precious and valuable.   You only have one life (averaging around 27,000 days) and thus a finite supply of time and energy.  Invest your time and energy in endeavours that stand some chance of succeeding.  Learn to avoid wasting it on pointless endeavours and unreasonable people.  Particularly speciously reasonable people: those who 'appear' to be reasonable, and may make tactical concessions in an argument to keep your attention, but at base are totally unreasonable, and may more accurately be described as 'impossible'.  I'm sure you've all come across the occasion when trying to reason with a woman or effeminate man and you just find them completely 'impossible'.  Don't waste your time with them.   It ain't worth it.

“I have another question”
-Julie

Notice the difference between Julie’s comments and the rest. What I’ve just quoted is the essence of it. Other commenters are simply saying what they think about the opinion piece, or expressing an opinion about some topic that someone else has raised.

Julie doesn’t do this. She asks questions. Because she gets to ask whatever question she likes, this potentially gives her power to manipulate a conversation.

Consider that many of us are here solely because we know The Spearhead will feature items of interest to men. We are receptive to the authors here, and the other commenters. We allow what they say to seed our thinking, because we want to think more deeply about and broadly about anything relating to our better interest.

But there is a flaw in our desire to absorb and expand the ideas of others so readily, and Julie is exploiting it. As soon as she starts asking questions, she sets the agenda. She has taken control of your mental real-estate as surely as any squatter moving into your house. And by responding to her, you are saying ‘I accept your direction’.

Her questions are designed to lead you to a paradox – which can easily be done in the discussion of anything – and in the process she will inflame passions with goading and provocative language. Whatever it is that you want to talk about will not be given a chance – you will be too busy doing her bidding (ie considering and arguing against whatever question she originally posed).

Be aware of these simple tricks. Your time and mental energy are valuable resources – arguably more valuable than anything else you have. Thieves are everywhere.

Havamal Snippets 7: Seek to Know Yourself

It's Wednesday (Woden/Odin's Day) which means that it's time for another verse from the Havamal 'Sayings of the High One - Odin'. The poem full of wisdom, both everyday and ethereal. (The poem can be found in full HERE):
7. A way guest
who to refection comes,
keeps a cautious silence,
(Or/Wit is needful
to him who travels far:
harm seldom befalls the wary;)
with his hears listens,
and with his eyes observes:
so explores every prudent man.

Men of Yore: John Snow

This is the second in a series of posts about men from history who have either achieved great things in one form or another by pushing boundaries: either in themselves or in society or science or exploration of some form.

Dr John Snow, 1856 (aged 43)

John Snow (15 March 1813 – 16 June 1858) was an English physician and a leader in the adoption of anaesthesia and medical hygiene. He is considered to be one of the fathers of modern epidemiology, because of his work in tracing the source of a cholera outbreak in Soho, England, in 1854.

Snow was born 15 March 1813 in York, England. He was the first of nine children born to William and Frances Snow in their North Street home. His neighbourhood was one of the poorest in the city and was always in danger of flooding because of its low proximity to the River Ouse. His father worked in the local coal yards, which were constantly replenished from the Yorkshire coalfields through the barges on the Ouse. Snow was baptised at the Anglican church of All Saints, North Street.
[..]
Snow was a sceptic of the then dominant miasma theory that stated that diseases such as cholera or the Black Death were caused by pollution or a noxious form of "bad air". The germ theory of disease had not yet been developed, so Snow did not understand the mechanism by which the disease was transmitted. His observation of the evidence led him to discount the theory of foul air.
[..]
Snow later used a dot map to illustrate the cluster of cholera cases around the pump. He also used statistics to illustrate the connection between the quality of the water source and cholera cases. He showed that the Southwark and Vauxhall Waterworks Company was taking water from sewage-polluted sections of the Thames and delivering the water to homes, leading to an increased incidence of cholera. Snow's study was a major event in the history of public health and geography. It is regarded as the founding event of the science of epidemiology.
Snow wrote:
On proceeding to the spot, I found that nearly all the deaths had taken place within a short distance of the [Broad Street] pump. There were only ten deaths in houses situated decidedly nearer to another street-pump. In five of these cases the families of the deceased persons informed me that they always sent to the pump in Broad Street, as they preferred the water to that of the pumps which were nearer. In three other cases, the deceased were children who went to school near the pump in Broad Street... With regard to the deaths occurring in the locality belonging to the pump, there were 61 instances in which I was informed that the deceased persons used to drink the pump water from Broad Street, either constantly or occasionally...
The result of the inquiry, then, is, that there has been no particular outbreak or prevalence of cholera in this part of London except among the persons who were in the habit of drinking the water of the above-mentioned pump well.
I had an interview with the Board of Guardians of St James's parish, on the evening of the 7th inst [Sept 7], and represented the above circumstances to them. In consequence of what I said, the handle of the pump was removed on the following day.

He followed the scientific method: do, observe, think, do.
Do - The precogntive 'hunch' based stage; 'Something's not quite right here.'
Observe - Use your sense organs to make observations of the environment over time, space and other elements.
Think - Make conclusions of the data based on the observations; i.e. find any patterns etc.
Do - Use the conclusions in a creative/proactive/constructive manner.

This method is (seemingly, to me at least) similar to one of the old Nordic Trinities, the Gods who gave man his various faculties:
'To the first human couple, Ask and Embla, Óðinn gave soul and life; Vili gave wit (intelligence) and sense of touch; and Vé gave countenance (appearance, facial expression), speech, hearing, and sight..' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vili_and_V%C3%A9).
